On the 47th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous "I Have a Dream" speech, radio host Glenn Beck kicked off his "Restoring Honor" rally, which is billed as a non-partisan event in Washington D.C. The rally features, among other speakers, former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin and St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa and player Albert Pujols.
Beck has said the rally will "reclaim the civil rights movement" in helping America turn back to God. Part of that was giving the Hope Award to Pujols, who is currently in Washington D.C. for a series against the Nationals. La Russa and Pujols agreed to be involved only if the event was apolitical -- La Russa and Pujols recently found themselves on opposite ends of the Arizona immigration law debate, as La Russa supports it and Pujols adamantly does not.
